FOUR PASS LOOP

The Four Pass Loop is a 26 mile trail located in the Maroon Bells - Snowmass wilderness outside of Aspen, Colorado. It draws backpackers and mountain runners from all over the world for both its beauty and the difficulty presented by each of the four passes topping out above 12,500 ft. Each pass offered a different view into this pristine wilderness, with the Maroon Bells visible from every area.
This was by far the hardest backpacking route I had ever attempted with 8000 ft. of vertical gain over the entire route, and carrying my full camera gear and tripod only upped the difficulty. This was a dream trail to photograph and I hope these images are able to convey just how special it was.
